Shirley
Shirley has been a dental hygienist for 36 years and has proudly spent the past 24 years with this practice. She truly loves what she does, especially the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her patients. Seeing familiar faces every six months often feels like catching up with old friends. Over the years, Shirley has enjoyed helping patients improve their oral health while also learning from them along the way. Outside of the office she loves spending time with her four children and two grandchildren, traveling, trips to the beach and gardening. Shirley is a fan favorite amongst the patients at Gawlas Family Dental.
Carina
With 38 years of experience in dental hygiene, Carina is dedicated to helping patients maintain healthy smiles while ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease during every visit. She takes pride in her calm demeanor, gentle touch, and ability to create a relaxing experience in the dental chair. Her compassionate approach and years of expertise help patients feel confident and cared for throughout their treatment. Outside the office, she enjoys staying active through yoga, biking, and hiking, as well as unwinding with a good book. She also loves traveling with her family and can often be found embracing adventure by riding the big kahunas in the ocean. Her warmth, skill, and commitment to patient care make her a cherished member of our dental team.
Cathleen
With 36 years of experience in dental hygiene, including the last 7 years at our office, Cathleen is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles while making every visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Known for her spontaneous personality and quick sense of humor, she loves making people laugh and creating a relaxed atmosphere in the dental chair. Outside the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her two sons, taking trips to the beach, and embracing lifelong learning. Her warmth, expertise, and genuine care for others make her a valued member of our team and a favorite among patients.
Marie
Marie has 40 years of experience as a dental assistant, beginning her career with Dr. Rowen and continuing with Dr. Gawlas. As the longest-tenured team member, she manages many aspects of the dental office. Marie has developed lasting relationships with many patients, some of whom she has cared for across multiple generations. Marie is the compassionate constant within the office that embodies the values we strive to achieve at the practice, making each patient feel a part of our family. Outside of work, Marie enjoys fly fishing, gardening, and canning, as well as spending time at the beach with her family. She especially cherishes time with her two grandchildren.
Taylor
Taylor has been working in the dental field for over 10 years and has been a valued member of Dr. Gawlas’s team for more than 8 years. Her experience, dedication, and friendly personality help create a positive experience for every patient who visits the office. The ease of conversation with Taylor makes our patients feel comfortable and supported. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time at the beach, fishing, attending country music concerts, and cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
Emily
Emily has been part of the dental world since she was 15, inspired by her mom who also works at the practice. With 17 years of experience, she loves helping patients feel comfortable — especially those who arrive nervous or unsure. Her favorite part of the job is seeing patients leave with a smile and a better experience than they expected. Emily’s bubbly personality and kind demeanor set patients at ease the minute they step through the door. Outside of the office, Emily enjoys bread making, crabbing, and spending time at the Delaware beaches with her family.
Christine
With 24 years as an orthodontic assistant and experience at the dental front desk, Chrissy loves helping patients feel at ease and supported throughout their visits. She is a friendly face and a calm voice you will see and hear every time you come to the office! When she is not in the office, you can find her spending time with her husband and their two boys — whether enjoying their pool, gardening, or heading to the beach. She also loves being outside with their two Labrador retrievers.
Jordyn
Jordyn is a dental assistant who got her start at Gawlas Family Dental through a high school co-op program. After graduating she continued working with the practice and is an integral part of the team. She loves learning new skills and expanding her knowledge in dentistry each day. Her favorite part of working in the office is being part of a supportive team — her work family. Outside of the office, Jordyn enjoys spending time with family and friends and going to the beach.
