Gawlas Family Dental Is Accepting New Dental Patients

Gawlas Family Dental is accepting new patients at our independent family dental practice at 25 Milltown Road in Wilmington, Delaware.

Our office has been part of the community for decades, and that history still shows in the way the practice feels today. Many members of our team have worked together for years. Patients come back and see familiar faces. Families bring in their children, then keep coming as those children grow up.

If you are looking for a dental office that feels personal, established, and easy to come back to, we would be glad to meet you!

    THE PEOPLE MAKE THE PRACTICE

What Makes Gawlas Family Dental Different?

    Simply put, it’s our people.

Dr. Matthew Gawlas purchased the practice from Dr. Todd Rowen in 2021. Dr. Rowen practiced alongside him up until his recent retirement in 2026. Many members of the dental team have also been here for years, so there is a real sense of continuity throughout the office.

People know one another, help each other, know the patients who have been coming here for years, and they get to know the new ones too. We feel like not starting over with a new face every time you come in really matters when it comes to dentistry.

Gawlas Family Dental may be a particularly good fit if you are looking for:

    • An independent, locally owned dental practice. We have been a proud member of the Independent Dental Society of Delaware for years
    • A team that has worked together for years
    • Familiar faces when you return
    • One dental home for your whole family
    • A dentist who treats children, adults, and older patients
    • Preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry in one office
    • A dentist near Pike Creek, Milltown, Prices Corner, Hockessin, or western Wilmington
    • A practice that is currently accepting new patients

The Kind of Patients We Love to See

There is no checklist you have to fit before you walk through the door. We welcome children, adults, families, seniors, people who have been diligent about their dental care, and people who have not been to the dentist in quite a while.

Still, there are a few groups who tend to feel especially comfortable here.

Families Who Want One Dental Home

A lot of families would rather not have one dentist for the kids, another for the parents, and another office down the road when something more involved comes up. We understand that.

Gawlas Family Dental cares for children, teenagers, adults, and older adults, so the whole family can be treated in one place. Over time, that makes things easier. We get to know your family history, your preferences, and the way your needs change from one stage of life to the next.

People Looking for a Dentist They Can Stick With

Whatever brought you here, you are not alone. Maybe your longtime dentist retired. Maybe the practice changed hands. Maybe you moved to the area, changed insurance, or decided you wanted something that felt a little more personal.

A lot of people are not searching for a dentist because they want to bounce between offices. They are hoping to find somewhere they can settle in and stay. This is how we strive for our patients to feel, comfortable and cared for.

Patients Who Prefer an Independent Practice

Gawlas Family Dental is independently owned and is not part of a large corporate dental chain. For some patients, that distinction is important.

It means your care starts with a conversation rather than a formula. We take the time to understand your dental history, what is bothering you, what is important to you, and what you would like to accomplish and then we talk through the options with you. No two patients are exactly alike, and their dental care should not feel that way either.

Adults Whose Dental Needs Are Changing

Dental care tends to get more interesting as the years go by. Fillings get older, crowns need to be checked, teeth wear down, chip, crack, or disappear altogether. Sometimes a problem that has been easy to ignore for years finally starts asking for attention.

Many of our adult patients come to us because they want someone they trust to help them sort through all of that. Sometimes the answer is simple and other times it is a bit more complex. Either way, the goal is to help you understand what is happening so you feel at ease with the plan that is laid out for you.

People Who Have Not Been to the Dentist in a While

If it has been a few years, that is okay. Really, it is just fine.

You’re busy, maybe you get nervous about going to the dentist, your insurance changed because you got a new job and just haven’t gotten around to it. Time flies after all. Kids, moves, and life in general have a way of filling up the calendar.

We are not interested in making you feel bad about the time that has passed. We will take a look at where things stand today, explain what we see, and help you decide what to do next.

Dental Care for the Whole Family

New patients can come to Gawlas Family Dental for routine preventive care as well as more involved dental needs. We are proud to keep a lot of your dental care under one roof so you don’t have to get referred out as frequently.

    Our services include:

    • New patient dental exams
    • Routine dental cleanings
    • Digital X-rays
    • Preventive dentistry
    • Periodontal evaluation
    • Fillings
    • Crowns
    • Restorative dentistry
    • Cosmetic dentistry
    • Evaluation of damaged or missing teeth
