    Teeth Whitening

Over time your teeth can become stained or discolored for many reasons: the foods and beverages you consume, the medications you take, smoking, injuries, genetics and the simple effects of aging. Daily brushing and flossing (and even using tooth whitening toothpastes) are not enough to remove deep-set stains and yellowing. You need the tooth whitening services only a qualified dental practice can offer. Here at Gawlas Family Dental we offer custom whitening, do not hesitate to let your hygienist know if this is something that you are interested in.

    Veneers

Veneers are natural looking, custom-crafted, thin restorations to fit your teeth and blend in with the rest of your smile. They are able to be made with minimal to no tooth removal and can correct unwanted spacing between teeth, chipped, dark, stained or crooked teeth.

    Bonding

A chipped tooth can ruin the appearance of an otherwise beautiful smile, but you don’t need to hide your smile because of it. Chips can oftentimes be repaired using a procedure called bonding, in which a strong, durable, tooth-colored composite material is used to fill in the missing area of the tooth. Once the bonding is applied, the tooth is contoured and polished to match your other teeth. No one will ever know that you once had a chipped tooth, so you can smile confidently once again.

    Renewing Your Smile

    Restorative Dentistry

Our restorative dentistry services are designed to repair and restore the function and appearance of your teeth. From fillings and crowns to bridges and dental implants, we offer comprehensive treatments to address cavities, tooth damage, and missing teeth. Our skilled team uses the latest techniques and materials to ensure your smile is both healthy and beautiful.

    Crowns (Caps)

A crown, also known as a cap, is a tooth-shaped restoration placed over the natural tooth to improve its strength or appearance. Crowns are also used with bridges and over implants. They are used to fix fractures, large cavities, failing fillings or even to give you a whole new smile. Most crowns are now made out of a material that does not have any metal, providing superior aesthetics for the patient. Crowns offer a more long term solution compared to other restorations, saving you money over the lifetime of that tooth.

    Composite Resins (Tooth-Colored Fillings)

They are the same color as your teeth, composite fillings are a much more attractive alternative to the older style, amalgam (silver-colored) fillings. They provide durability in small to medium-sized fillings and can be used in front or back teeth because they can stand up to chewing. To improve the look of your smile, we can replace your old, silver-colored fillings with tooth-colored composites. This is often done when old fillings have worn out and need to be replaced, but it can be done at any time you choose.

    Dental Implants

Dental Implants are used to replace missing teeth or teeth that need to be removed. Currently, they are the best option and closest thing to your natural tooth that we can offer. While they do take time to heal (3-6 months) before we can put a crown on the implant, they are sure to last you a very long time. If you have missing teeth and want a replacement don’t hesitate to let Dr Gawlas know and he will be happy to review the process with you.

    a Healthy Smile for Life

    Preventive and Routine Care

We emphasize the importance of preventative and routine care to keep your smile in optimal health. Our services include regular check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants to protect your teeth from decay and gum disease. By focusing on early detection and proactive care, we help you avoid more complex dental issues and ensure your oral health is always at its best.

    Preventive Dental Care

Preventive dental care is essential at any age. Practicing good oral hygiene and scheduling regular checkups with your dentist helps keep your smile bright and healthy. Here are a few tips to prevent plaque and cavities:

    • Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft-bristled or electric toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste for two minutes each time.
    • Floss daily, preferably before bedtime, and follow with a fluoridated mouthwash.
    • Avoid eating, drinking, or rinsing after using mouthwash at night.
    • Limit sugary or acidic drinks; water and milk are best.
    • Maintain a healthy diet to avoid cavities.
    • Keep your six-month cleaning appointments to catch issues early, saving your teeth and money.

    Digital Scanning

Our office is equipped with a digital scanner that is able to take thousands of 3D pictures of your teeth in a very short amount of time. By having this technology as a service to you, in many cases, we no longer have to take the gooey impressions that often make people gag. Not only is it a painless service, it also captures the necessary detail with precision for an optimum fit. Whether this be for a crown, bridge, night guard, whitening trays you name it, we are able to use the scanner!

    Renewing Your Smile

    Advanced Dental Treatments

At Gawlas Family Dental, our advanced dental treatments are designed to address complex dental issues with precision and care. Whether you require tooth extractions, dental implants, or corrective jaw surgery, our experienced team is dedicated to ensuring your comfort and successful outcomes.

    Root Canals

Root canals are needed when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected. There is a large misconception that root canals hurt, with today’s anesthetic we are able to numb the tooth properly so that the patient is comfortable and pain free for the duration of the procedure. Once the root canal is completed the tooth will receive a filling and in most cases a crown to prevent the tooth from fracturing in the future. In many cases, root canals can be avoided by coming in for your regular 6 month check up and diagnostic x-rays. This way we are able to catch the cavity before it gets to the nerve and you may only need a small filling.

    Dentures

Traditional dentures are used to replace all of your missing teeth on either the top, bottom or both of your arches. While they do provide an esthetically pleasing result, they fall short in function. Oftentimes, only providing 30% of your chewing capability. For this reason we offer and recommend placing some implants that we can attach the dentures to. In doing so, they do not move around and provide you with a greater ability to eat without compromising the natural look. If you have issues with your denture not fitting properly or not being able to eat everything you would like, be sure to let Dr G know!

    THE WHOLE PACKAGE

    Total Health Dentistry

Scientific evidence shows that oral and systemic health are closely linked. Chronic gum inflammation raises systemic inflammation, affecting the circulatory, immune, insulin control, joint, and nervous systems, as well as various organs. Most people are unaware of this widespread impact. Dentists recognize bleeding gums as a sign of inflammation, which can be managed effectively.

By collaborating with health professionals, dentists educate the public and provide resources for healthier, longer lives. Maintaining inflammation-free gums improves overall health, lowers risks of numerous diseases, and helps preserve natural teeth.

Comprehensive dental care, including detailed medical histories and consultations with physicians, enhances patients’ health and longevity through thorough diagnostics, treatment, and referrals.
